An arrangement should be made with Mr. Roberts to receive and examine the observations, to predict the tides, and to publish annually a certain number of the Books.

Mr. Chadwick suggested that Mr. Roberts should prepare Tide Tables for Hongkong at a cost of £27.2.6 for 1883 and subsequent years, and be informed that the data in his possession was sufficient for determining the 1883 tide tables, although not the observations of a whole year.
His proposal was approved and the Secretary was instructed to inform him accordingly.
